Events: Community Conversations

Join us in 2024 for five delightful evenings!

Join us in shaping the future.

There is a lot to love about Forest Hills: its sense of place, a rich history of innovation, an engaged community, and much more. There are also many opportunities for growth, ways that we can move Forest Hills Forward.

We are convening Forest Hills residents and business owners to learn, share, and imagine the future of our community. Together, we will:

  • contribute our unique, lived experiences;

  • build upon existing activities and initiatives in our neighborhoods;

  • think intentionally about environmental sustainability and resilience;

  • foster inclusivity and equity; and

  • create a collective vision and action plan for the future of Forest Hills.

Share your perspective, 24/7!

Can’t attend a session but have input to share? Or perhaps you attended a session and want to share additional reflections. Contribute your ideas anytime.

Join us in improving the resiliency & transformability of our community.

Our Framework

Forest Hills Forward, made possible by FHCA and funding from PA’s Keystone Communities Program, is committed to understanding and planning for the future of our community in a holistic way.

The Community Conversation Series will focus on six topic areas – born of the “ecodistrict” framework, but tailored for our community – that have a great impact on quality of life, and both the built and natural environments in Forest Hills.

EQUITY  – increasing access to education, affordable housing, employment opportunities, health & wellness, and fairness in development

FOOD – increasing access to grocery stores, creating community kitchens for food preparation, providing support for urban gardens, and improving food education

WATER – working toward cleaner water, mitigating flooding issues, and increasing recreational space

ENERGY – reducing energy cost burden, adding resilience to the system, and making energy efficient and/or renewable energy options more accessible to all

AIR QUALITY –  reducing the impacts of industrial smog, addressing health conditions like asthma, and improving indoor air quality

MOBILITY – improving access to jobs and amenities, increasing safety and walkability, and creating freedom of movement for all
